The FA Disability Cup 2024: six exciting finals

At the FA Disability Cup, in collaboration with EE, some of the country’s para-footballers compete in six finals over two days, with all matches being streamed live on TNT Sport and free of charge on Discovery.

The 2024 final, which is the largest festival of its kind, promises football players with specific disabilities an FA-owned national festival, with a total of six competing game formats.

The first day included the final of the Amputee Cup, the final of the Cup for the visually impaired and the final of the Blind Cup.   The second day was marked by the final of the Cerebral Palsy Cup, the final of the Wheelchair Cup and the final of the Deaf Cup.

It was Portsmouth who took home the weekend’s first FA Disabled Cup trophy after a thrilling 3-2 win over Everton.

Rhyce Ramsden opened the scoring for Everton in the second minute, beating his marker and firing under the goalkeeper.

Then, Che Gray scored one for Portsmouth with an impressive curling effort.   Jamie Tregaskiss then put Portsmouth in front with a deflected effort from long range.

Everton then squandered a chance to equalise with a shot, but TJ Yates extended Portsmouth’s lead with a hard header from a corner.

Sean Jackson got one for Everton in stoppage time, but Portsmouth held on to the trophy.

The Scorpions won a thrilling 1-0 Visually Impaired Cup final in St. Louis. John’s. George’s Park.

Both sides created many to break the deadlock, but defenses held firm.

However, Adam Lione’s shot into the top corner in the remaining minutes sealed the trophy for the Scorpions.

West Brom the Blind Cup Trophy after an eventful final.

Azeem Amir opened the scoring for RNC, scoring a very good free kick to the side of the goal.

Paul Iyobo got the equalizer for West Brom, but Amir gave the RNC the lead back with silky footwork before a surprising finish.

Iyobo then regained the score with a great effort and had the opportunity to score his hat-trick on the spot, which he finished off with aplomb.

After a red card for RNC, Iyobo missed the penalty, but his hat-trick was enough for West Brom to hold on for the win.

The second day started with a festival of goals in the final of the Cerebral Palsy Cup.

It was a disappointing start for Chelsea, with an own goal in the sixth minute, and then Norwich City’s Josh Wilde shot insistently over the bar.

Chelsea then scored an own goal and Norwich’s Ben Armstrong extended the lead to 4 with his first goal after being substituted.

The Finn Pitchers opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 45th minute, Bradley Taylor-Buglione returned home moments later to make it 5-1.

Chelsea responded with a curly shot and then a penalty exchanged by the takers, but Liam Irons struck from close range to secure the trophy for Norwich City.

Marcus Harrison sealed West Bromwich Albion’s name with the final touch of the match.

Valentino Zegarelli opened the scoring for West Brom, highlighting his start.

Zegarelli and Harrison had other chances in the game, but Aspire’s defenses held on until the final seconds.

In one match, St John’s beat Farsley Celtic to retain the Deaf Cup trophy.

St John’s opened the scoring and Byron Down doubled their lead in the minute.

Farsley scored a goal through Joe Dixon with 18 minutes remaining, but despite hitting the crossbar on the final raid, Farsley was able to fail to find an equaliser and St John’s held on to win.
