The day after Divac’s departure as Kings coach, Stojakovic resigns

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A day after Vlade Divac resigned as coach of the Sacramento Kings, Peja Stojakovic resigned as deputy director on Saturday.

Stojakovic, another former player in the franchise, held senior positions on the front line since 2015, the latter two as deputy director general.

Joe Dumars appointed the interim general manager on Friday when the Kings announced Divac’s departure after a consecutive 14th place in the playoffs. It’s the NBA’s longest active drought and a timid record.

The Kings had a 39-43 record in the 2018–19 season, with progress coach Dave Joerger appearing. But the team fired Joerger after the season and replaced him with Luke Walton. Sacramento passed 31-41 this season.
