The Chevrolet Corvette will be the speed of the Indianapolis 500

This will be the seventeenth time a Corvette has been used in office since 1978. Chevrolet is one of two indyCar series engine suppliers, along with Honda.

The central-engined red coupe is supplied with the Z51 track-centered group, which includes a 6.2-liter, 495 hp V8, plus brake and cooling transmission, a support wing, summer functional tires and other fast parts.

The Stingray’s maximum speed is indicated at 184 mph with the Z51 set up, however, you will only have to succeed at 130 mph before leaving the track while waving the green flag.

Chevy manufactured 4 cars with the Indy 500 logo. Two will be used as race cars, with GM President Mark Reuss driving at the start of the race, one will go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and the fourth home with the winner of the race.

Unfortunately, the last time Reuss drove a Corvette race car in an IndyCar race, things didn’t happen very well because he lost and put it on the wall of the Belle Isle Street track in Detroit.

No one injured, but I hope things are less difficult for him and everyone at Indy, where the race takes up without enthusiasts bringing in due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
