The annual duck race scheduled for August 29 will be an occasion this year

There may not be the same festive atmosphere as always in Wingfield Park in downtown Reno, however, the annual duck race will stop this summer, as a live occasion on August 29.

The duck race, which the Nevada Animal Protective Society, has more than 12,000 ducks already followed on Friday afternoon. The purpose is to have 20, 000 ducks in a row.

This move to a live occasion for this year’s duck race is found in the most recent snow-capped rule and rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The winning duck gets a lucky player with a new car or $10,000 donated through Carson City Toyota. There are also other prizes to win

The Duck Race provides the Nevada Animal Protective Society with a critical investment to continue working to care for and provide homes for animals in need in northern Nevada.

Also this year, Pion Bottle in Sparks has partnered with the Nevada Animal Protective Society and the annual Duck Race.

Until the end of August, Pion will offer a pint of Able Baker Brewing’s “Atomic Duck” beer for $1 when buying a duck for this year’s annual duck race.
