That’s right: while the original WRX is technically an edition of the Impreza range, the current device is a style in its own right and comes in no less than five other forms. Before we delve into the differences, each and every new WRX sold in Canada will be supplied with a turbocharged 2. 4-liter boxer-style engine with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Since it’s a Subaru (and, in particular, a WRX), all-wheel drive is part of the popular equipment.

For starters, there’s the entry-level $33,695 version, a version that includes a six-speed manual transmission, as well as amenities like LED headlights and 17-inch alloys. Inside, there’s an odd dual-screen infotainment setup with two stacked 7. 0-inch touchscreens. more sensible to each other, as if someone pressed copy and paste in the factory.
Next up is the Sport trim, introduced with either a six-speed manual transmission or an frequently variable transmission that Subaru calls “SPT” in a chicane of names. This ditches the odd infotainment formula for an 11. 6-inch pickup screen while also adding dual-zone climate control and a sunroof, plus fog light on its front bumper. Look for a $38,195 value for the Sport, adding about $2,000 if you want the automatic.
In the middle of all this is the new RS, priced at $41,895 and equipped with a manual transmission. Here you will find Brembo brand brakes (sets of six pistons at the front), perforated rotors, shock absorbers with different tuning and Bridgestone Potenza rubber. sticking to the 19-inch alloys. The steering rack has been replaced, the headlights are adaptive and the sunroof has been lowered. Thus supplied, it may be the new favourite in the range.
The Sport-Tech starts at $41,995, and has GPS and a banging stereo along with the six-speed manual. Headlamps get a different style and the seats are shod in Ultrasuede. Finally, the new GT provides access to those new adaptable dampers, but one will have to spend $44,895 and settle for the automatic transmission in order to do so.
Elsewhere, the EyeSight suite of driver assistance systems is now popular across all models, partly because of the democratization of generation and partly because Subaru figured out how to make it all work with a manual transmission.
Expect the 2024 WRX, in all its forms, to appear in dealerships in the early part of this year.
