The 2024 Subaru Solterra is an upgrade over last year’s model with faster charging and more for the same starting price.
Subaru unveiled its first all-electric vehicle in the U. S. The 2023 Subaru Solterra is the first electric SUV to feature symmetrical all-wheel drive for off-road performance.
With dual electric motors, the electric SUV features “outstanding traction and capability” on all kinds of roads or weather conditions.
Subaru’s electric vehicle features 8. 3 inches of floor clearance with X-mode for optimal traction in a variety of conditions.
The Solterra also includes Subaru’s most advanced multimedia system yet. It has standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Cloud Navigation, and Intelligent Assistant.
Subaru says the Solterra includes more cargo space than Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 for bikes, camping supplies, extra gear, and more. The interior also offers ample space and generous rear legroom with a flat floor.
Subaru reached out to consumers and advanced the 2024 model year in the most significant way with faster charging. The 2024 Subaru Solterra can reach 10% to 80% in as little as 35 minutes. Subaru claimed that the 2023 model could reach up to 80% in less than an hour.
Thanks to an advanced battery conditioning system, the new Subaru Solterra can run up to 80 minutes faster in freezing weather.
Starting next year, Subaru EVs will adopt Tesla’s NACS ports. The automaker will also supply an adapter to allow existing consumers to access Tesla’s Supercharger network.
Subaru has also upgraded the steering wheel of the new Solterra with regenerative brake-force paddle switches.
The new style includes roof rails with a static load capacity of up to 700 pounds. Subaru says the upgrade is ideal for a rooftop tent or other larger items. The dynamic load capacity is up to 176 pounds.
Faster charging is definitely needed. I rented a 2023 last year and the load was terrible. It never came close to the maximum and temporarily dropped to 16 kW. If I had charged it 10->80 on a 350kW EA charger (which is what I’m using), it said It would take me almost two hours!Last time I rented a car that wasn’t a Tesla.
While Subaru is yet to reveal the diversity of the new Solterra, we expect the numbers to hold up at last year’s model, around 220 miles. Meanwhile, two electric motors deliver 249 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 Subaru Solterra will be available in Premium, Limited, and Touring trims. The basic Premium style starts at $46,340 (including the $1,345 destination fee).
Limited styling starts at $49,840 (with destination). Subaru’s Limited trim includes a 12. 3-inch touchscreen, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and a wireless phone charger.
Subaru’s Touring styling features a gloss black hood, panoramic sunroof, LED lighting for the front and rear feet, new ventilated front seats, a virtual rearview mirror and smart key entry.
