The Turbo S edition adds 80 hp to the previous Turbo; sets the new lap record for the “executive sedán” of the Nurburgring.
Discover Porsche’s reaction to the competition crowd of more than six hundred horsepower (see: Annex A; Annex B). The German manufacturer introduced the revamped Panamera 2021 range, and sitting on the most sensitive battery is the Panamera Turbo S. 620 horsepower.
Porsche reserves this additional S only for the most productive performance models in its range. Earlier this year, the 911 Turbo S 640 horsepower. All this extra strength comes from an advanced edition of the 4. 0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 family. he says engineers have taken special care to ensure that the force gradually increases towards the red line, generating a curve similar to that of an herbal suction engine.
Given these figures, it’s no wonder to see such fast functionality times: Porsche cites a time of 0 to 62 mph of just 3. 1 seconds and a more sensitive speed of 195 mph. The Turbo S has already set a (very specific) time record at Nurburgring. At 7:29. 81, the giant sedán beats Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, the Porsche 911 Turbo S from ten years ago, and knocks on the door of the Carrera GT. This, my friends, is what you make of the call.
The Turbo S is, of course, more than its original Zuffenhausen core. The new sedan and the Sport Turismo family circle have a myriad of driving aid acronyms that begin with a “P”. There’s the same old PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), PDCC Sport (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport) and PTV Plus (Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus). Porsche claims that the formula has been adjusted for the fast version, which translates into greater comfort and sportiness.
Like the rest of the Panamera 2021 range, the Turbo S has a sophisticated facelift. The exterior features a new front bumper design, which extracts elements from the latest generation of the 911 992 and 718 Spyder. the car absorbs more air for this hungry V8. Back, a new backlight design; follows the trend of the circle of relatives of a thin strip of LEDs throughout the width of the back, connecting the lights.
While the interior of the new car is pretty much the same as the existing model, the Panamera 2021 includes an additional technical kit. All new Panameras have Apple CarPlay wireless support, threat radar and an advanced voice system. incorporates track maintenance assistance and popular signal recognition.
All new diversity of panamera shapes will be available in North America starting in the first quarter of next year. The values for the Turbo S are not currently available, expect them to be closer to the output, while Canadians will be worth $202,400. For reference, the existing Turbo, without S, starts at $157,000. a few thousand dollars to transfer to Sport Turismo, and a little more than for the long-fought executive.
