Complete vans are expensive. And some other people want or want the length and capacity of a half-ton truck without spending a ton of money. That’s why Fiat-Chrysler continues to sell the old Ram 1500, now called the 1500 Classic, along with the new style of stylish pants. That doesn’t seem to replace him soon either.
CarsDirect reports that the Ram 1500 Classic will continue in the 2021 style year, priced at $30140 for a Tradesman 4×2 style with normal cabin. That’s about $3800 in savings for the cheaper Ram 1500 Tradesman 4×2 Quad Cab 2021.
Currently, the Ram 1500 Classic 2020 is held at Tradesman, Express and Warlock finish levels, with a selection of normal cabin frame, multi-seat cabin or quad cabin styles, as well as 3 other bed lengths. The Pentastar V6 3.6-liter Ram engine is standard, buyers can opt for a 5.7-litre Hemi V8. The Classic may not have all the comforts of the new Ram 1500, but you can still opt for it with heated seats, a heated guide wheel, the FCA’s 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment configuration and other features.
Although old, the Ram 1500 Classic is still a very smart truck.
Another wonderful explanation for why offering the classic style is that Ram recently doesn’t offer a mid-tier truck to compete with the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma. The sensible thing about that is that, despite its seniority, we’re willing to bet that the Ram 1500 Classic is still a full-size truck more wonderful than a new Nissan Titan or Toyota Tundra logo, which they have struggled to remain competitive.
Ram 1500 Classic 2021 models are expected to be available later this year.
