Test: Subaru Crosstrek Limited 2020

If you were in favor of an iconic vehicle for the boom of automotive crossovers in North America, the Subaru Crosstrek is Annex A.

Launched in 2012 as a replacement for The Outback Sport, the Crosstrek subcompact has sprung up in the wave of customers’ personal tastes to the most sensible of Subaru Canada’s charts, where it represented 15184 sets in 2019 in the United States, where its 131,152 sales were sold, followed only by Outback and Forester last year.

Now, in its generation at the moment, the Crosstrek is connected to the subcompact vague sedan and the Impreza hatchback, and is incorporated into the global Subaru platform that underpins both.By 2020, seven models will be available in Canada, ranging from the convenience manual to the Limited.diversity model.

The basis of this is Limited’s flagship model, which I recently spent a week driving with permission from Subaru Canada.

All Crosstreks 2020 are supplied with a flat 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that generates 152 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 145 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm.Subaru’s permanent symmetrical all-traction formula is popular in all versions. In terms of power, a six-speed manual transmission must be in the Convenience, Touring and Sport grades, while a CVT can be used with all models and is the only option for the Limited.

The Crosstrek is based on a separate four-wheel suspension, with MacPherson struts at the front and a double triangle at the rear.My Limited test model also comes with inclined descent control, 220 mm (8.6 inches) of free floor space and Subaru’s X mode, which is designed not only for off-road traction, but also for stability on snowy and slippery roads.

From a functionality point of view, the Crosstrek is a bit deficient. The 2.0-liter 4 is ideal for traversing the city, but acceleration is delayed until the throttle is crushed, which can make it difficult to get on the road.SI (Subaru Intelligent) Drive is helping a little, with two settings (Smart and Sport) that can still change the guide wheel. In Sport mode, engine speeds are higher for more responsive acceleration, allowing the Crosstrek to feel faster, but only through grade.

Subaru focuses on protection and crosstrek is a smart example of mood. My limited control vehicle comes with protection technologies, adding EyeSight, the company’s complicated windshield-mounted camera formula that monitors the front road to provide driving force assistance in 4 modes: adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, pre-collision fuel control (engine shutdown) and oscillation warning and lane exit.EyeSight is available in all grades and is a popular factor in the Limited.

I did not do any training to review EyeSight in particular, however, I won some audible warnings about some lane changes, and I saw that the start/lane support precaution formula was quite accurate and reliable. Track/start tracking formulas rely heavily on road markings, which vary significantly from one road to another My Inspector, in general, did well to keep the car in the lane when I was deliberately moving to review it, however there were also several cases where I simply could not detect the road markings and I was able to move from one lane to another. One without caution or corrective action of the formula. In a nutshell: keep your eyes on the road.

Subaru’s indoor game has gone up a few notches in recent years, and the innovations are visual in the Crosstrek. From leather seat surfaces with contrasting orange seams, to its 8-inch recessed touchscreen and uns luxuries-free design, my check vehicle accepts it.Although not a sumptuous standard, the Crosstrek’s cabin is elegantly decorated and the fabrics used are pleasant to use.Orange accents sew an entire cabin that has attractive shapes and contours.

For some (including myself), the taste of Subaru might seem a little too square and bland, but it is favorable for outdoor visibility, the passenger/boarding area and ease of access and departure. The Crosstrek meets all requirements and provides intelligent driving AND for a small crossover, it feels spacious with plenty of space for front and rear passengers comfortably.Rear seat backrests fold gently to supply up to 1,565 liters of shipping area.

One of the most impressive facets of the crosstrek’s interior is the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen in the middle of the board. With features like Apple CarPlay and support for Android Auto, as well as Subaru’s STARLINK connected services, this device is responsive, simple to use and offers impressive mapping. The keyboard shortcuts under the screen and the separate volume and adjustment button make it one of the easiest-to-use systems I’ve ever experienced.

The 8-inch is popular on Sport and Limited models, but only the Limited has built-in navigation. However, the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is popular in all versions, adding those that have a 6.5-inch screen, to fill the navigation.Vacuum.

The Subaru Crosstrek may not beat your pulse, however, it meets many squares that are important to consumers.Quite elegant, capable, with security technologies and a value that the highest consumer can make. And for those who need more power, Subaru manufactures the Legacy sedan’s 2.5-liter (182 hp / 176 lb-ft) flat four-cylinders to be held in the 2021 Crosstrek, only for the Outdoor and Limited versions.
