Tesla’s competitor, Lucid Motors, claims that its Air sedan will have a whopping 517 miles (832 km) on a bachelor load, beating the king of Tesla’s existing range, the Model S with approximately 402 miles.
The California-based startup still plans to make an official announcement of an Air production edition in September, with the first installments scheduled for early 2021, to The Verge.
While the Model S is under Air’s 517-mile diversity, now qualified through the Environmental Protection Agency, Tesla’s upcoming models, adding Roadster and Semi trucks, will have a diversity of 500 miles or more.
But Lucid Motors doesn’t need problems with Tesla. In June, the company’s CHIEF executive, Peter Rawlinson, reiterated in an interview with Ars Technica that she sees herself as a best friend of Tesla’s, not as a direct competitor. “The global is big enough that we can thrive and thrive with others,” he told the site. “Don’t describe us as a Tesla killer.”
Electric vehicle levels are EPA certified in North America and the Global Harmonized Light Vehicle Testing Procedure (WLTP) in Europe and the rest of the world. Epa estimates are more positive than those of the EPA, as published by The Verge.
Lucid Motors sees the rating as a wonderful victory and took the opportunity to rejoice. In a statement, Rawlinson said that the progress of the start-up in automotive technologies “collectively sets a novelty and will offer a number of “world premieres.”
“This exceptional efficiency, the internal generation achieved, is undoubtedly a measure of a real electric vehicle generation company,” he added.
