Tesla officially presented the new Model and in North America and Europe after its launch in China at the beginning of the month.
The difference is that Tesla is now accepting orders for older and newer versions of its best-selling electric SUV.
This is an exclusive release for Tesla. No I think the automaker has done this before.
After launching the new Model Y design refresh in China two weeks ago, Tesla is now starting to take orders for the refresh in North America and Europe.
But it turns out that the design of the design is a transition in Tesla’s production, because the automaker takes commands for the last version:
For the launch in North America and Europe, Tesla added a new “edition” in the Model Y online configurator for a “New Model Y Launch Series,” which is the edition revealed in China this previous month: CI.
But in China, only this new version has been available for sale since the last two weeks.
Tesla estimates the new edition will have 320 EPA miles of range. Compared to 311 miles for the Y Past Y style long-range AWD, the available Y style new launch series edition.

For the launch series, Tesla is evaluating the new Y-style long-range AWD style at $59,999 USD. This represents $12,000 more than the previous-style long-range AWD drive, which is available upon request.

But they also get things like “Premium Textile Trims” and “Vegan Suede for Black Interior”:
Currently, Tesla is only offering the new Model Y in Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, Ultra Red, and Quicksilver, but they are all included in the Launch Series price.
Glacier Blue presented in China is presented lately in North America or Europe.

These new Y models will be much less expensive in a few months.
Tesla is talking about the first deliveries of this new edition of the Model Y that will arrive in March in North America.
This came earlier than expected as most expected the launch to be closer to March on how Tesla introduced the Model 3 refresh last year.
But this is also another one as Tesla continues to receive orders for the last version.
Tesla probably worried about the Osborne effect and this strategy to start with this most beloved edition of the model and, the launch series, will attend the sales of the previous edition and much less dear.
