Tesla introduced the new Y-style in China and Australia. Here’s what you want to know.

Tesla’s long-awaited “juniper” update of the Model Y has been introduced in China.

We knew that the car on the road due to many prototype observations (mainly camouflaged) tested on the world’s roads, and it is not yet known when it arrives in the United States or in Europe, but now it must be had in the maximum Asia, adding China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Korea. It must also be had in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.

There is no official announcement in writing this article: Nor Tesla, Tesla Asia or the CEO Elon Musk have tweeted anything in the new model. But we can pass through the specific specifications and photographs to give it the maximum of details, and that is precisely what we have done.

This is the model and Facelift, the first main news of the maximum popular electric car of Tesla since its launch in 2019. The so -called “Juniper” only a code call, and is not officially used anywhere in the Tesla website, So the new edition is still called Tesla Model Y.

However, Tesla labels the Model Y lately that it will be held as a “release series” and calls it a limited version. It’s probably more commonly about uptime as corporate production ramps up, but you get some benefits if you go with the release series version; More on that below.

Although the new style is not a complete difference compared to the old design, the car remains approximately the same form and the same length as before, it represents a primary design review. And this is a big problem, because at some point it is the maximum popular car in the global (electric or other), which means that there is a very giant user base that awaits what Tesla did with its circle of motorist relatives.

The adjustments come with absolutely new and upper head accessories, connected to a soft strip on the front of the car hood. In the rear, it is essentially the new accessories of model 3 connected to a red bar. I have been updated with new upper vents, which concludes the primary design settings. Look a lot and see new main points, as soft accessories in the curves in the appearance mirrors and a front camera in the bumper, but from a distance it remains the one that remains the same car, just a little more angry.

The similarities with the Cybertruck and the Tesla Cybercab, which also demonstrate the soft heads of the bar, deserve to be scored. Is this known as Baby Cybertruck? Hopefully no, however, we cannot assure it.

As for the wheels, they differ depending on the region. In China, for example, buyers can between 19-inch, black, “interactive” storm wheels (I used the device’s translation in Chinese, so take those names with a grain of salt), or the 20-inch money, silver wheels, “Spiral Storm” wheels. In Australia, however, there is only one option: the 20-inch “Helix 2. 0” wheels, which appear to be the same as the “spiral storm” variant in China.

Five colors are offered. In Australia, the selection is between the white Pearl Multi-Cocoat, Glacier Blue (New), Stealth Grey, Quicksilver and Ultra Red. In China, the possible selections seem to be the same with other names.

Glacier Blue is an all-new color, replacing the past deep blue metal. It’s a lovely blue, softer and lighter, it turns out to be the kind of color you really want to see in the wearer to perceive the precise hue.

Interesting note: In Australia, all colors are included with the value of the car. In China, you’ll have to pay up to 12,000 yuan ($1,636) for anything other than “Star Gray. “

The selection of internal colors is simple: all black or black and white. In terms of seats, you only have one option, and this is the five-point variant. The new style should be had with seven, even six positions in the future, but, unfortunately, it hasn’t happened yet.

Inside, there is also no radical replacement: you get the popular and absolutely circular guide wheel (there is no yoke wheel here), a giant landscape screen placed in the middle and a rumble . . . It is nothing more to look.

However, there are a significant number of new details here if you look closely. These include the ambient light strips, an additional display in the back, and the absence of the gear-shifting stalk behind the steering wheel, though the indicator stalk appears to still be present.

Tesla also says that the cabin is calmer than before thanking the new acoustic glass. The seats are now ventilated and the rear seats are electric and can be extended through an urgent button.

Only two editions are offered, and it is the rear traction and the long range traction. The edition is absent.

With the rear traction, you get a diversity of 466 km (WLTP estimate in Australia), a more sensible speed of 201 km / h and a time of 5. 9 seconds from 0 to one hundred km / h. The value begins at 63,400 Aud ($ 39,275).

Post up to all-time long drive and you’ve got an additional motor and all-wheel drive. You also get 551km of diversity (again, WLTP estimate in Australia), 2010 of the most sensible speed and a 4. 3-second acceleration from 0 to a hundred km/h.

The clutter figure is a modest improvement (in Australia, previous beach figures were 455km for the rear-wheel-drive style and 533km for the long-range style).

Acceleration is better, too: 1.0 seconds quicker from 0-100 km/h for the RWD variant, and 0.7 seconds quicker for the LRAWD version. But there’s a caveat: the Launch Series Model Y is fitted with the typically optional Acceleration Boost software upgrade, so expect that to be gone when Launch Series cars sell out.

As for the batteries inside, Tesla does not provide the specifications, however, it is very likely that the batteries are the same as before, and the diversity innovations are due to power optimizations.

Updated suspension, wheels, and tires — should provide a smoother and quieter ride. In numbers, that’s 22 percent less road noise, 20 percent less suspension impact noise, and 20 percent less wind noise.

The launch date varies by region. In China, for example, Tesla says deliveries will begin in March. In Australia, however, deliveries are expected to begin in May.

Value-wise, the new edition is more beloved than before. For example, the worthwhile start off the older Model Y was AUD$60,872 ($37,693). Now, the outdoor start is AUD$68,770 ($42,596). It’s a 12% build: a significant replacement and a clever explanation why for the older, yet-to-be-owned Model Y will likely disappear when Tesla stock runs out. The price range across the market, so the value of the difference would possibly be different depending on your region. Also, when the limited edition of the launch series sells out, the regular Model Y would possibly be worth it.

There is no official word on this issue. Judging by the release dates (in two months at the earliest, and in 4 months in safe regions), Tesla probably doesn’t have enough stock to start promoting the new mass. Tesla has no official press releases, so we can’t get direct answers, however, our most productive assumption is that the car can be had in other regions within a few months.
