Tesla asked PH as a production site

“Every hire represents an investment in Filipino talent that drives this transition forward,” he added.

The presence of Tesla, the president said, would inspire local innovation and attract more investments in the electric vehicle sector.

“The government has adopted policies and pursued strategic measures that reflect our commitment to enhancing sustainable transportation while meeting the needs of Filipino commuters,” the President said.

He also said that electric cars are the long term of the Philippine transport system, and described Tesla’s access to the market as a step towards the country’s long -term environmental objectives.

“While it is true that electric cars are lately high -end products, Tesla’s access in the [Market] of the Philippines is a sign of much more than high -tech cars on the road,” said the president.
