Tallahassee police locate more than 30 pounds of marijuana, a loaded gun, in a wanted man’s car

Tallahassee police, looking for a man wanted for skipping a court, discovered more than 30 pounds of marijuana and a loaded gun in his car.

Ladarius Dickey, 28, arrested Wednesday for a criminal’s cannabis trafficking, resisting the arrest and possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Leon County detention center.

Members of the Special Investigations Section of the Tallahassee Police Department, the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Task Force for Fugitives. And the Leon County Sheriff’s Office was looking for Dickey, who was looking for his failure to commit a flight-flight offense.

“Dickey discovered that he was traveling down North Monroe Street in a rented BMW 2020, and a traffic prevention was activated,” TPD said in a press release. “He tried to escape in the vehicle but was temporarily arrested.”

Officers discovered marijuana, gun and drug paraphernalia in the car and more marijuana and some other weapon to find their home.

Dickey has been arrested on drug charges since at least 2015, adding traffic methamphetamine, according to Lion Circuit Court records.
