An accident that closed South Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death of one person.
A head-on collision in the 1600 block of South Taft Hill Road occurred after 3 p.m.
A black 2017 Toyota Corolla was driving north on Taft Hill Road when a 2008 Southbound Mini Cooper deviated into approaching traffic, according to a press release from The Fort Collins police.
The Mini Cooper collided with the Corolla and a woman who died as a passenger at Corolla as a result of the collision, according to a press release from the Fort Collins Police Department. Corolla’s driving force had minor injuries.
The guy behind the wheel of the Mini Cooper was seriously injured. Police say they are investigating whether the Mini Cooper’s driving force was under the influence of alcohol.
Taft Hill Road between Prospect and Stuart Street closed for about 3.5 hours after the crash.
Anyone who has witnessed the collision and spoke to the police should call Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229. The Larimer County Coroner’s office will reveal the identity of the woman who died later.
