Sytner has completed the rebranding of its CarShop second-hand supermarkets to Sytner Select locations.
The second most successful car dealership organization in the UK, according to the Car Dealer Top 100, has just finished painting its new workshop in Manchester.
New signage and rebranding has been placed at all sites held through Sytner.
The move means the organization now has nine Sytner Select outlets in the UK, in Bristol (pictured), Cardiff, Northampton, Nottingham, Swindon, Wakefield, Warrington, Wolverhampton and Manchester.
Yesterday it was revealed that Big Motoring World had bought the former CarShop outlets in Norwich and Sheffield, while Sytner had closed its operations in Doncaster.
Darren Edwards, Sytner’s chief executive, told Car Dealer: “I am pleased to say that Manchester, the newest store replacing its name, begins to be promoted under the Sytner Select brand from (Thursday) and the preparation centre at Leighton Buzzard begins operations under the name Sytner. Logistics Centre on the 29th.
“You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery to consumers of our approximately 20,000 annual new fleet sales, as well as the supply of bodies to our local Sytner dealers.
“This will give the organization nine Sytner Select-approved used car supercenters, which will be provided through the exchange of surpluses from our franchised dealerships, which, given the length of the organization, eliminates the desire to acquire cars at auctions and other outside sources.
“The long term is very bright for these renowned corporations and we are excited about the prospects they offer to make a greater contribution to the Group’s continued success. “
Explaining some of the reasons for the resolution to shut down the CarShop logo and relogo the sites under the parent company, Edwards cautioned that it helped reduce marketing costs.
He added: “These cars will be advertised on Sytner GroupArray, eliminating for a moment the desire and prices related to their operation. “
He also explained to his dealers that Sytner now uses electric car installations.
“We are working with our OEM partners in locations to provide more after-sales support, adding BEV charging and repair, as well as troubleshooting assistance,” Edwards said.
Sytner closed the CarShop logo in May following a “strategic review” of the business. It bought CarShop for more than £70 million in 2017 and in 2021 launched the CarShop logo worldwide.
Sytner is owned by Penske Automotive, a company indexed on the New York Stock Exchange, which also used the CarShop logo in the United States.
Last year, Penske’s profits exceeded £23 billion and it made profits of £863. 5 million. The UK contributed 31. 3% to Penske’s profits in 2023, while CarShop outlets in the UK and US remained static, adding 7% to the total.
