Suzuki Queensland has recalled 286 examples of its 2018-2019 Jimny, raising a possibility with the small SUV’s fuel pump.
The affected vehicles were manufactured in 2018 or 2019 but would likely have been sold later.
The recall notice, filed with the Department of Infrastructure, reads, “Due to a production defect, the fuel pump impeller would possibly inflate and prevent the fuel pump from operating. “
“If this happens, it’s possible that the engine will simply stall, leading to a loss of power. “
Unlike most car brands in Australia, Suzuki cars from Queensland are sold through another dealer in the rest of Australia. It’s unclear if Jimny cars sold are affected.
A full list of the identity numbers of the 286 cars affected by the recall can be found here.
“Owners of the affected cars will be contacted in writing through Suzuki Queensland, or possibly contact their nearest Suzuki agent to schedule an appointment to replace the fuel pump, free of charge,” the recall reads.
Owners can contact Suzuki Queensland by calling 07 3623 4900 or emailing suzuki@suzukiqld. com. au.
