Subaru Ascent 2019: reasons to buy (and 3 reasons to hesitate)

At Auto123.com, when we have in our hands a vehicle for driving control, we review to think first of all from the attitude of prospective buyers and whether style is a smart purchase for them.

This week, the new 2019 Ascent, of which we have the keys lately, was a hot topic in the office, and we’ve already drawn some conclusions before our full review. Expect to see this review on our site in a week, so stay tuned!

Here’s a first look at 7 things explored so far.

Yes!

1- Interior space

A worthy full-size SUV, the Ascent be offers a giant cabin environment for passengers and cargo. We have noticed that other car brands in the category mis manage this area and offer less than they could. Not the promotion. You can adapt any number of other people’s combinations and gadgets in giant quantities.

2- The row of seats

Needless to say, those looking for a vehicle for 7 or 8 more people will use the row for now! The Ascent rests on rails, so even the largest member of your circle of family members or entourage will enjoy a spacious and comfortable space. Better yet, access is facilitated through the wide opening angle of the doors. Smart.

3 – A dynamic that trusts

You can’t expect an SUV to be as agile on the road as a car; however, things have come a long way in recent years. We probably wouldn’t dare use the words sporty or stimulating when it comes to Ascent’s driving experience, but we’ll say that we locate that drives strangely like … A car. The SUV inspires confidence, aided by forged braking and wonderful road stability.

4 – Ordinary gas!

Although the Ascent has a turbo engine under the hood, you don’t want to fill it with super gasoline for optimal performance. The current costs of the bomb are what they are, that’s a very, very smart thing.

But…

5- The 3rd row

While the passengers in the momentary row enjoy the spacious comfort, those behind them may be in another state of mind. As is the case even for full-size SUVs, the third row has less space and the Ascent is no exception. This row is smart for kids, but …

6 – CVT (continuously variable transmission)

The main distinguishing feature of frequently variable transmission is that it reduces fuel consumption compared to an automatic transmission. The other aspect of the coin is that when it comes time to accelerate, the howls of the engine are still nice. Subaru supplied the Ascent formula with simulated virtual speeds, but that did not eliminate the screaming at all.

7 – Fuel consumption

Speaking of fuel consumption, The Ascent works well on the road, but in the city it’s another story. It is worth considering if you plan to drive a lot in an urban environment. Our average, driving basically in the city? 13.5 L / one hundred km.

Please note that we have analyzed the included devices and connectivity systems as they vary depending on the version. The elements discussed here relate to the Subaru Ascent 2019 in general.
