Subaru, TerraCycle expand their partnership to deliver safe recycling solutions for EPI waste
CAMDEN, New Jersey, August 20, 2020 / PRNewswire / – Subaru of America, Inc., announced a new recycling initiative to recycle waste from non-public protective appliances (EPI) in reaction to the accumulation of waste due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new initiative is an extension of the partnership between the automaker and TerraCycle®, the world leader in the collection and reuse of complex waste streams. The new meeting efforts divert the improperly discarded PPE from landfills and incinerators. Subaru will use TerraCycle’s Zero Waste Boxes ™ to collect disposable masks and gloves in more than 20 offices across the country, adding ports, regional schools and the car manufacturer’s headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.

To properly collect and recycle EPI waste, the Subaru branch involved will use the following 0 waste boxes:

Once filled, the boxes will be returned to TerraCycle for repair and the collected waste will be cleaned, melted and remodeled to manufacture new products.
