Stolen chase ends with several wreckage on fair streets

A police chase that began at Hackensack crossed several cities before ending Wednesday with a major accident of several cars on Fair Lawn, according to police.

Paramus police joined the highway chase as the suspects headed west, fleeing a Hackensack officer, according to Paramus’ deputy director Robert Guidetti.

Police accused Kenneth Barber, 32, of the Bronx and Ebony Rogers-Fields, 28, of Newark, of property of stolen goods. Barber, the driver, also accused of escaping.

Barber led police to the chase, preventing on Broadway at Fair Lawn, before fleeing and crashing into a Nissan Rogue at the intersection of Fair Lawn Avenue and Plaza Road, Guidetti said.

The Nissan’s driving force led to St. Joseph Medical Center in Paterson with non-fatal injuries.

Police begged citizens to stay away from the turn of destiny’s dominance on Fair Lawn Avenue and Plaza Road in a Facebook post at four p.m.

“There is no danger to the public, however, rescuers are helping the victims of the accident,” the message said.

Hackensack and Fair Lawn police did not respond to requests for comment.

A Facebook user named Alan Roytbak shared videos of the scene and noted that “a high-speed chase and crash occurred in front of him.”
