WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Chrysler’s parent company Stellantis is recalling 1. 16 million cars in North America because of software that prevents rearview cameras from being displayed, increasing the risk of accidents, the automaker said on Tuesday.
The wireless software update recalls the 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster 2022 cars, and covers 1. 033 million cars in the United States and 126,000 in Canada.

A request to accept the upgrade will appear on the media screens of the recalled vehicles. Stellantis said the software has already been updated on more than 735,000 vehicles.
The company began investigating the issue in October 2023, and the automaker reviewed warranty data, box records, and
customer records.
The automaker said it is aware of any injuries or injuries similar to the recall issue.
