The first Audi Q8 e-tron rolled off the assembly line at the Brussels plant. According to Audi, the plant has been a sustainable production style since the beginning of production of the Audi e-tron. Around 160,000 sets of Audi’s first electric style have been delivered since 2018.
The Audi Q8 e-tron will be successful among consumers in Europe and the US. It is a carbon neutral qualified car. From 2025, production at all Audi plants will be carbon neutral as a component of the company-wide Mission: Zero environmental program.
Audi Q8 e-tron: increased efficiency
The new Audi Q8 e-tron is intelligent to drive 582 km in singles and up to six hundred km in the Sportback according to the WLTP. In addition, Audi also uses recycled fabrics in some parts of the Audi Q8 e-tron.
Since the start of production of the Audi e-tron, the Belgian company has been identified as the world’s first carbon-neutral high-volume production plant in the premium segment. It switched to green energy in 2012.
Among other things, Audi Brussels installed one of the largest photovoltaic formulas in the region on the factory premises, covering 107,000 square meters. The formula generates approximately 9,000 megawatt hours of electricity from sustainable energy per year.
Gerd Walker, Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at Audi, said: “With its increased power and range, as well as its crisp design, the new Audi Q8 e-tron is a fort for electromobility. “
Walker also added: “Brussels has done valuable pioneering work. In our experience, we have delivered around 160,000 cars worldwide. In the next step, we will leverage this experience to boost battery production in Ingolstadt. “
Since May 2022, Audi has made rail shipments on the route of approximately 1,300 km, a resolution that reduces carbon emissions by around 2,600 tons per year.
