Starbucks questionable on A3 side at San Domenico forced to close

A Starbucks driving on the side of the A3 closed in July due to a permit order to circulate through national highways, the coffee chain confirmed. restaurant, had to give way to the planned extension of the A3 in the domain around the M25 interchange.

A Starbucks spokesperson told SurreyLive that the planned road improvement plan was the cause of the closure and that all staff hired there had been moved to other nearby locations. It’s unclear if the expansion plan will mean the construction of Starbucks or the main place to eat will have to be demolished. SurreyLive has contacted National Highways for clarification.

San Domenico, a lively Italian dining spot after opening in the 1970s and popular with celebrities, is partly due to its proximity to the St George’s Hill estate. When the A3 expanded a few years later, it meant that business was more difficult for the restaurant, and its owners finally sold it in 1989. Some drivers complained that getting in and out of the new café was difficult to drive through the car, and there were two injuries at the site in 2019, one in April and one in August. Planning permission for a gas station on the site was denied via Elmbridge. City Hall that year and was rejected on appeal in 2020.
