STREET. CLOUD (WJON News) — Authorities have released more information about a reported sexual assault.
The St. Cloud Police Department says the 14-year-old woman who reported being sexually assaulted in a park on University Drive last Wednesday wasn’t entirely fair to the officers who responded to her call.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of 16th Street Southeast around 5:30 p. m. The young woman told them she was walking alone in the 1,700 block of University Drive Southeast when she approached through a black pickup truck. The woman said she spoke briefly with the two men. in the vehicle and then forced into the van.
The woman told police the men took her to a park in the 1900 block of University Drive Southeast and forced her out of the vehicle and into a wooded domain where they forced her to have sexual contact. She described the suspects as two light-skinned black men. men in their 20s. Police were unable to locate the suspects or the suspect vehicle on the property.
Authorities say that through physical evidence and statements, they learned that the teen had made up the story of his abduction and that everyone involved in what happened that night knew each other.
Police say investigators are still looking into whether or not a crime was committed.
