If there’s any doubt that the BMW M3 and the next-generation BMW M4 would have the brand’s new grid design, those new images will eliminate it. The following M3 and M4 were noted doing camouflaged tests together, with their two grids fully exposed. (We don’t own spy images, but you can see them here)

In these photos, the BMW M3 and Mfour use heavy camouflage, but we can see as many designs as needed. Both cars appear to have the same grille design and the same front air intakes. They also seem to have the same headlights, which is attractive since series 3 and 4 have other headlights.

Although, like the outgoing F80 M3 and F82 M4, those two new cars appear to have some external differences. For example, the BMW M4 looks a little lower, a little more sublime and a little sportier. Although the M3 is a little more muscular, thanks to its more expanded wheel steps. Not that the M3’s wheel travel is wider than the M4, however, the popular 3 series is narrower than the 4 series, so giving them the same wheel ride means the M3 looks more widened than the M4.

We will get used to the new design of the grid, even if it is a more arduous procedure for some than for others. However, I think it’s a shame that BMW installed such a large grill, not because of its appearance, but because of the way it distracts from the rest of the design. Both are very good otherwise, especially the BMW M4, which looks out at its monstrous grille. With general grids, those two cars would look amazing, but no one will notice because of their giant, open mouths.

Luckily, you won’t want to take a look at the steering wheel grill, as those two cars are probably the right ones to drive. The new modified CLAR architecture on which they are based is much more impressive than that of the outgoing F30 chassis on which the previous M3/M4s were founded. Therefore, they deserve to be one step ahead of their predecessors in terms of commitment and overall capacity.

They’re going to be quick, too. Very quickly. Both cars will get 3.0-litre biturbo S58 engines under their hoods. In the fundamental specifications, they will produce 473 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. In competition, you will have 503 horses to play. All versions of the M3/M4 will be popular with rear-wheel drive, with optional all-wheel drive. However, this will be the fundamental specification you want, as it will come with a six-speed manual option, either on the M3 and M4. This manual option will also allow you to level down on your own, without having to disable stability beforehand.

The BMW M3 and BMW M4 will be very smart cars. They’re going to be as fast as hell, they’re going to drive like high-performance machines and look great. As long as I can pass this new grid.
