Sophos Sweetens Deal For Partners

The new program offers an automatic 20% margin to new and existing partners, as well as quarterly discounts on more attainable new business fees, said deMarie Malnar, head of channels at Sophos.

“We need to praise the partners who stood by our side and did a job and also motivate others to work with us,” he said.

Sophos has 750 solution provider partners in the U. S. , many of them in small and medium-sized business markets, he said. The new quarterly discounts are designed to be more available to partners who promote businesses with fewer than 250 users.

A spouse who generates $2,500 in new business per quarter will earn a 2. 5 per cent rebate. Those who generate $5,000 in new business per quarter will get a nickel. Certified spouses will have an increase in fees and may qualify for discounts of five to ten percent.

The average value of a 100-seat license for Sophos software is about $30 per seat.

“We need to make sure that we’re giving more margin than others in our industry and because we’re at one level — we don’t go through a lot of distribution space — distributors are left with all the margin,” Malnar said.
