Volvo ranks first in technological innovation; Hyundai ranks first in the massive brand market

New car buyers are offered an increasing number of complex technological features, some of which are a success, while others lately lack the goal. The JD Power 2020 US Tech Experience Index (TXI) study, published through SM, shows that automakers who innovate and are at the forefront of delivering new technologies, as long as consumers like it, will get the maximum benefits as those technologies enter the conventional.

Power. “New technologies continue to be a key factor in the resolution of purchasing a vehicle. However, it is for automakers to offer features that homeowners find intuitive and reliable. The main findings of 2020 include:

Views created through art cameras: Owners attach wonderful importance to technologies that give them an “additional look” to drive their vehicles. In particular, homeowners in the luxury segment rated these technologies highly in five of the six satisfaction attributes measured in the study. The camera mirror has the highest score in the functionality index (894) among luxury homeowners, followed by the floor view camera (884). Among complex camera/vision technologies, the camera mirror receives the highest overall functionality of the Mass Market Position Segment (889), followed by the Transparent Towing View (874) and the Floor View Camera (858). A high percentage of homeowners who have those 3 features say they will “definitely want” those features in their next vehicle (73% for the rearview mirror with camera, 62% for the rearview mirror and 53% for transparent view of the trailer).

Pointing the finger at internal gestures: Among luxury homeowners, the generation of internal gestures (which allows the user to see various functions of the vehicle using hand gestures instead of touching anything) is by far the generation with the lowest rating for all satisfaction attriyetes. (Technology is not yet available in the mass market segment). Owners who have this feature in their vehicle enjoy a maximum rate of disruption (36 disorders per hundred vehicles), more than double the rate of the nearest next generation. A giant proportion (61%) of those owners uses the generation less than a part of the time they drive, 14% have never tried and 16% have tried but no longer use it.

Many owners do not accept the technologies needed for more automated driving as true: active driving assistance is designed so that the vehicle can carry out purposes such as acceleration, braking and steering, while the driving force remains involved in the driving task. Top-ranked brands

Volvo ranks first with an innovation score of 617 and offers a top point of complex technologies across its product line. In the luxury segment, BMW (583) ranked second, followed by Cadillac (577), Mercedes-Benz (567) and Genesis (559).

Hyundai ranks first in the mass market segment with a score of 556. Hyundai gives a higher-than-average generation point and achieves performance excellence effects. Subaru (541) is second, followed by Kia (538), Nissan (534) and Ram (520).

Advanced Technology Award Recipients

The TXI analyses 34 technologies, which fall into 4 categories: convenience; Emerging automation Energy and sustainability and infotainment and connectivity. Only technologies classified as complex are eligible.

Cadillac CT5 is the luxury style that receives the value of comfort, for the generation of rear seat recovery. Subaru Ascent is the mass market style that receives the value of convenience, for the generation of camera mirrors.

Cadillac Escalade and Genesis G70 are awarded for emerging luxury style automation (equally) for rear cross-traffic caution technology. Chevrolet Camaro is the mass market style that gets the value of emerging automation, also for rear cross-traffic caution technology.

Cadillac XT5 receives the luxury connectivity and infotainment award for real-time navigation technology. Kia Sportage receives the infotainment and connectivity award in the mass market segment, also for navigation technology.

The 2020 U.S. Technology Experience Index (TXI) exam is based on responses from 82527 new vehicle owners in the 2020-style year who were surveyed after 90 days of possession. The review was conducted from February to May 2020.
