MARYLAND (WJZ) – School recovery sites throughout the state postpone operations due to Tropical Storm Isaias.
The Baltimore County public postpones operations for the 85 places where food is distributed Tuesday.
The program will resume everywhere on Wednesday.
In addition, the Maryland Food Bank will deliver food to 3 county library branches.
The distribution of meals in the Anne Arundel County public is also suspended on Tuesday, but will resume on Wednesday.
Instead of the same breakfast and lunch on Wednesdays, students can get two breakfasts and two lunches to compensate for the cancellation of the service on Tuesday.
The Queen Anne County Public Schools Board announced Monday that the district will deliver food to students on Tuesday.
“Due to expected wind speeds of 50 to 70 mph and the amount of precipitation expected Tuesday of Tropical Storm Isaias, the distribution of meals at Grasonville Elementary School, Sudlersville Middle School and Queen Anne High School has been canceled,” Jeff Straight, QACPS public information officer said in a statement.

The program, which offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to students while schools are closed, has continued to distribute food since schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to begin hitting Maryland from Monday night through Tuesday and the worst of the typhoon is expected to move into the domain at 2 p.m.
Queen Anne County is one of many counties in the state where tropical typhoon warnings have been issued.
The typhoon is expected to bring in 3 to six inches of rain on Tuesday.
The Maryland Emergency Management Agency urges all Marylanders to prepare for possible affections before the typhoon through a source kit and know if they live in an evacuation zone.
