Skoda produces 925,000 vehicles worldwide in CY2024, up 4.2%

In 2024, Skoda Auto manufactured more than 925,000 cars in its global production facilities, an annual sliding building of 4. 2%. In addition, the company has produced more than 280,000 battery for electric and rechargeable hybrid car in the Volkswagen Group, more than one million transmissions and only 500,000 engines.

The main plant in Mlada Boleslav accounted for the majority of production: 575,000 Skoda vehicles. In 2024, production began on a record number of new and revamped styles, adding the Scala, Kamiq, Kylaq, Octavia, and Kodiaq style series. The company also continued its overseas operations: capacity at the Pune plant in India was expanded for the Kylaq compact SUV, Skoda’s third style made in India for India. In addition, arrangements for vehicle gathering in Vietnam have been finalized and Kodiaq Skd production has started in Kazakhstan.

Andreas Dick, Member of Production and Logistics on the Board of Skoda Auto, said: “From a production perspective, 2024 was one of the most difficult years in Skoda Auto’s history. This is due to the launch of a record number of new vehicles, the expansion of our overseas production capacities and the continuous optimisation of production processes. Last year we took vital steps for our competitiveness and efficiency, adding the logistically difficult partial relocation of production from Octavia to Kvasiny. This move freed up capacity on our unique and flexible production line in Mlada Boleslav, which supports ICE and electric vehicles, paving the way for the new Elroq-style range.

In 2024, the Fabia was updated in the versions of the Scala, Octavia and Kamiq models, as well as the fully electric Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models, leaving the Boleslav Mladá plant. For fully electric cars, ENYAQ’s diversity has attracted strong customer interest, with Skoda Auto having built almost 80,000 series last year. The Mladá Boleslav production line is unique in the Volkswagen group in that it allows cars with internal combustion engines on the MQB platform and electric cars on the MEB platform. This flexibility improves production power and allows the factory to temporarily respond to adjustments in call. At the end of the year, arrangements were completed for mass production of the new Elroqarray with a daily production capacity of up to six hundred sets.

The Kvasiny plant, celebrating 90 years of operation in 2024, also delivered strong results, producing 248,000 vehicles. This site primarily focuses on the new generation of the Kodiaq model and Karoq, with the updated Octavia recently added to its production portfolio.

The Mladá Boleslav plant is also a giant component manufacturer. Last year it manufactured around 500,000 engines of the efficient EA 211 Diversity and 355,000 MQ two hundred manual transmissions. Additionally, the expanded production line in Mladá Boleslav supplied 227,000 traction batteries for electric cars based on the MEB platform.

The carbon-neutral Vrchlabí plant, celebrating 160 years of operation in 2024, achieved an output of 710,600 seven-speed DSG 200 automatic transmissions in 2024. These are used in Škoda vehicles as well as other Volkswagen Group models.

In 2024, Škoda Auto produced 32,800 cars at its two plants in India. The Pune facility manufactures the Slavia and Kushaq models, and production of the new Kylaq compact SUV began on December 13, 2024, accompanied by a 30% expansion in production capacity to 255,000 units. The Kylaq will contribute to the brand’s annual sales target of 100,000 cars in India through 2026. The local logistics center is preparing the Slavia and Kushaq models as fully inverted kits (CKDs), which will be assembled in a newly built factory in Vietnam. Meanwhile, production of the Kodiaq SUV continued last year at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) facility.

Since December 2023, the plant of the Volkswagen Group in Bratislava, Slovakia, has been generating the very good new generation. In 2024, 54,500 sets of this style went through the production line.

In China, Skoda cars occurred in the cities of Changsha, Ningbo and Nanjing. The 2024 portfolio included the Octavia, Octavia Pro, Kamiq, Kamiq GT, Karoq, Kodiaq and Superb, with a general production achieving 15,200 cars.

In Salomonovo, Ukraine, the Karoq SUV meeting continued.

Throughout 2024, Vietnam, one of the most dynamic markets in ASEAN, has observed broad agreements for the production of Slavia and Kushaq models from swinging kits imported from India. The mass production of the Kushaq is expected to begin in the first quarter of this year. Vietnam will also serve as a door to other Asean countries.

In Kazakhstan, the meeting of Kodiaq, Octavia and Karoq cars of semi-kixed kits (SKD) has begun. Last year, more than 1,400 cars were produced after Škoda entered this market. In 2025, the corporation plans to expand the local SKD meeting to come with more models such as Kamiq, Superb, New Generation Kodiaq and Octavia Facelift.
