Despite the Skoda badge, there’s a lot of Volkswagen engineering in the Fabia. In fact, as part of the larger VW family, all modern Skodas are necessarily supplied with VW platforms, engines, and transmissions.

Maybe the company contributes to the maintenance charge on a pro-rata basis (given the low mileage your car travels), but don’t count on that. It also goes to the ACCC on the grounds that the car was not of adequate quality or compatibility with the target (this probably deserves to be independently verified).
