ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 8 (Bernama) — A Singaporean was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car making a U-turn at kilometer (KM) 1. 4, northbound, on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA) highway, which expired last night. .
The police chief of Iskandar Puteri, CPA M. Kumarasan said the victim, who suffered head injuries, died at the scene.
He said he obtained data about the incident, which involved a 31-year-old man in a Yamaha MT07 and a Proton Saga car, at around 00:20.
“The investigation revealed that the driver’s U-turn of the car was legal because he is in charge of the task of fixing the paint on the road at km 1. 6 southbound. The U-turn was made to reach another repair site at km 20 heading north,” he said.
“The victim’s body has been transported to Sultanah Aminah Hospital,” he said today.
Kumarasan said the 40-year-old driver of the car was unharmed and that the case is being investigated under segment 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
