Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan – Siemens AG and Russian tyre manufacturer Kama Tyres have signed an agreement to expand the logistics formula at the Kama truck tire plant in Nizhnekamsk as part of a larger expansion allocation on site.
Siemens, already Kama’s logistics spouse since 2007, will be Kama’s production procedure and production execution formula (MES), linking production and control within the plant.
The agreement with Siemens, announced on September 18, is Kama’s main expansion assignment at the Nizhnekamsk site.
Phase 1 of the project, Kama’s parent company Tatneft said in a statement, ended in 2019, expanding the production of forged metal cable truck tires on site through 300,000 games consistent with the year.
Phase 2 of the allocation will see the addition of 1. 2 million games according to the year, which will raise the overall production capacity to 2. 8 million portions according to the year.
Tatneft’s did not provide additional points on the duration of the investment, however, according to local media, Phase 1 included the installation of 18 presses and an investment of 4. 6 billion rubles (51 million euros). Under the new agreement with Siemens, the Russian department of the German generation organization will take over control of equipment, engineering and general procedures at the heavy-duty tire plant.
Siemens-Russia “will provide monitoring, commissioning and consulting services for the facility,” Tatneft added.
Among other features, the logistics formula will come with a WMS warehouse control formula, a transport formula, network equipment and autonomous robot transport for the movement of semi-finished products.
The main task of the project, according to Tatneft, is “the timely delivery and garage of unso cooked and finished tyres” as production capacity increases.
In production since 2009, Kama’s truck tire plant had a nominal capacity to manufacture 1. 2 million sets of tyres in line with the year before expansion projects. Siemens logistics formula for the initial structure of the plant.
Commenting on the new agreement, the executive director of Nizhnekamsk’s truck tire plant, Tsalik Portnoy, said the extended partnership is based on Kama’s “positive long-term experience” with Siemens’ logistics system.
