NEW MILFORD – Alex Thomson has been a boy since his earliest memories.

As a child, he played match box and spent time with his neighbor, Bob Devine, who had a race car. There he learned a lot about Array.

His love of the automobile led him to a 30-year career in the industry, and now the 20-year-old Sherman resident opened his own business, Toyota Performance Center last month.

“I tried to do this,” Thomson said, noting that in recent years I was a little nervous about the idea of fitting in to a business owner.

But before this year, when the coronavirus pandemic began and his employer closed for 8 weeks, he had time to “sit in the house and think” what it would be like to open his own shop.

After a location in New Milford, he discovered “the right person” at 453 Danbury Road (Route 7 South).

“His task is perfect,” said Rich Devine of Sherman, who has known Thomson for 34 years and has hired him as a mechanic since he was first given a car.

“Aside from the fact that he is the most competent Toyota mechanic you will find, he will not carry out the paints your car does not want, such maintenance, thus avoiding costly maintenance,” said Devine. “It’s difficult to locate other people like that because they’re all looking to maximize income.

TPC specializes in Toyota and Lexus cars and has all the newest generation to satisfy the desires of cars, just like dealerships.Thomson can also paint on other cars and soft vans.

“I’m a mechanic, ” he said. I can paint on anything.”

Some might think that opening a business amid a pandemic might be unusual, but Thomson said it believes it’s time to reinvent the auto repair industry and the way cars are maintained.

TPC’s purpose is to provide all of its consumers with a concierge service provided by retail branches, he said.

The corporate provides a personalized service; Thomson can pick up a vehicle from the house or pictures, pictures there and return to the vehicle.

“The visitor will never have to leave their home or worry about what they do to their car,” said Thomson, who graduated as an associate in a Toyota-sponsored T-TEN program and is a Toyota tech teacher.

Services include normal vehicle maintenance, maintenance plans as recommended by the manufacturer for new and used cars and cellular repair for small jobs, as well as on-site battery changes/installation.

“If you want to do something else for your car, such as accessories, functionality improvements, factory modifications or spare parts, this can also be done through TPC,” he said.

The workshop can also make arrangements for all other vehicle needs, adding details, emissions, warranty work, bodywork and windshield.

“If you have a concept and no one does what you have to do with your car, TPC can build it,” said Thomson, who is also an ASE generation master and a fully qualified hybrid.

“If you can dream it, we have the resources to do it,” he said.

Another service that TPC will provide is a used car review.Residents who need to buy a used car but need to take a look at it can call Thomson.

“A lot of other people buy used cars that are the best,” he says.”If you buy one for $15,000 to $20,000, it’s probably not a bad concept to ask an experienced user to read about the car…it’s a cover for them.”

Woody Fickett of Sherman, who in the past owned a car shop, has known Thomson for many years and calls him when he wants mechanical assistance in his business.

“He’s a genius,” Fickett said of Thomson’s abilities.”… And you can’t ask for a more honest, honest and talented person.”

Having worked for several dealerships over the years, adding Toyota to Bantam, Thomson is in the industry’s ins and has a network of automotive connections.

He describes himself as who taught him through an “old-school mechanic whose accessory that if he dismantled something and understood how it worked, can fix everything.”

When not working, Thomson builds and maintains race cars competing at Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York. He’s been doing this for almost 40 years, a fun that has helped him forge his hobby for the car and the structure and arrangement of almost everything.

When Bob Devine, a 24-pound race car driving force, stopped racing in 2002-03, Thomson took over as owner and kept the car running.Today, the same car, now known as 42 pounds, is driven through Kyle Sheldon.
