SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – Two tractor-trailer crashes blocked lanes in either direction on I-215 West in Salt Lake City shortly before noon Tuesday, and traffic backed up in the northbound and southbound lanes.
The incidents occurred within 1,000 feet of each other, the sergeant said. UHP said. Cameron Roden said, and it possibly seems to be related.
However, Roden said they separate the accidents.
The crash in the southbound lane affected the tractor-trailer and two other passenger vehicles, he said. A transported user in critical condition.
It wasn’t clear if the injured individual was in the semi or one of the two other vehicles.
In northbound lanes, a semi truck could be seen tipped on its side.
Roden said no primary injuries were reported in the incident.
It is known if other cars were involved in the northbound crash.

In either case, all lanes were closed on each side. The Utah Department of Transportation’s online incident page showed that traffic virtually came to a standstill in both directions.
Traffic cameras showed congested vehicles, passing the crashes one after the other.
At 1 p. m. , southbound traffic nearly backs up to Legacy Parkway.
The turn to the north was not so serious; A third crash involving a tractor-trailer caused hardship about 1. 5 miles south of the double crash site.
Crews can be seen racing to remove a tractor-trailer from the I-80-I-215 interchange.
The main points of the twist of fate are unknown.
Drivers are being urged to find alternate routes if possible, and prepare for major delays if they have no other options but to commute through the area.
