A local organization intervened to help after a teenager’s motorcycle was stolen at Oxnard.
Earlier this month, a 15-year-old was trying to sell his bike online. He met up with someone who said they were interested in buying it. That person took off with the bike without paying the teen.
The teenager is a member of an Oxnard Hip Hop Mindset organization.
When William Venegas, CEO and discoverer of Hip Hop Mindset discovered what had happened, he created a GoFundMe for the teen. People started donating temporarily.
“In 24 hours, we raised $750. The next day we met the father and the child and surprised him with the money. I was very excited and happy. It was something I didn’t expect,” Venegas said.
Venegas gave the teenager a box, with a note with the money.
Hip Hop Mindset is founded in Oxnard. Venegas said the band’s purpose is to motivate and motivate other young people through hip hop music and dancing.
The organization organizes categories in schools in the Oxnard, Hueneme, and Ventura school districts.
