SEATTLE (AP) – The guy accused of driving a Jaguar on a closed Seattle road and beating two protesters, killing one, is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Lawyers will talk about whether he can be released on bail.
Police said Dawit Kelete, who is black, drove the car around cars parked on Interstate five to an organization of Black Women protesters in March.
They say he hit two other people and fled in the early hours of Saturday.
Summer Taylor, a 24-year-old veterinary clinic employee, suffered serious injuries and died Saturday night. Diaz Love, 32, from Portland, Oregon, in a serious condition.

He took into custody and issued a ruling to uncover possible reasons to detain Kelete as a component of an investigation into an attack on the car.
