SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – For a while it seemed like it would never happen, but now it’s wonderful to be Aztec, because the floor was despite everything damaged in the SDSU West Mission Valley project. And what an exciting time it is, because the centerpiece of the plans includes a whole new stadium.
“It will be the assignment of the flos angeles ship that will outline the future. Not only for SDSU, but also for higher education in California,” said San Diego State President Adelos Angeles Angels.
The assignment will come with a state-of-the-art educational district, 86 acres of land used for parks and recreation, housing, a hotel and, of course, a 35,000-seat stadium.
“I can’t wait to see the team run into Basher’s field and enjoy the applause of 35,000 fans,” Torre angels said.
The director of Aztec athletics, JD Wicker, is equally excited.
“We are building a stadium for Aztec football, foreign and professional football, concerts and any other occasion you can think of. Call him, we’re going to house him.”
And who knows, one day San Diego will see the NFL’s return.
Jack McGrory, a board member of SDSU, says the new stadium will be built with the NFL in mind. “It’s your minimum specification for the NFL, 55,000 seats. We can do it there.”
The task of SDSU West was not easy, as many demanding situations were encountered along the way. But as San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer describes it, it’s time to write down Mission Valley’s next bankruptcy.
“The SanDieganos deserve to be very happy to know that the long term of this land, despite everything, is arranged. As a position where education, athletics and the network will thrive on appearance.”
The stadium is expected to be open and in condition for Aztec football in 2022.
