When switching to electric vehicles, governments provide subsidies to new car buyers to make the transition a little smoother financially. However, in many countries, subsidies only apply to new electric vehicles, but in Scotland this is no longer the case.
According to Next Green Car, a recommendation from a customer who is helping drivers switch to plug-in cars, the Scottish government is extending its low-carbon shipping loan to used electric cars with awning for the first time.

For many, buying a new electric vehicle is more expensive than a thermal propulsion car, especially in the low-level market. Fortunately, there are government subsidies for profit, but unfortunately they do not extend to used cars. a little less than their combustion counterparts.
In addition, electric cars, as Tesla has shown, retain their price incredibly well and will remain unsuccessful compared to others who buy second-hand in search of an affordable price.
Fortunately, at least for Scots, the country’s government is lending up to $20,000 ($26,000) interest over five years to cover the load of a used electric vehicle.
This 20,000 euros will be enough to cover more than half, if not the total cost, of an electric vehicle used such as the Peugeot e208 or the Opel Corsa-E.
Cabinet Secretary for Transportation, Infrastructure and Connectivity Michael Matheson said: “The global transition to electric cars means that values are falling year after year, but the value of new cars remains higher for many. We need to facilitate supplier replacement by providing interest -Free financing for used cars. »
The loan will be obtained from 28 September, and to take advantage of and apply, you obviously have to live in Scotland.
Scotland is the first country to inspire drivers to buy used electric vehicles.
However, the Dutch government has a similar system, that a long-term loan, grants an initial deduction of coins to car buyers to cover the charge of a used electric vehicle. The program turned out to be so popular in fact that all the coins the Dutch government spent on it sold out in 10 days.
Although the Scottish programme is not loose money, like other subsidies, huge assistance for five-year interest-free loans accelerates the adoption of electric vehicles, i. e. among those who have struggled to locate the budget in advance.
