Even before the first official day of camp, the Chargers’ maximum volatility position belongs to Sam Tevi.
Coach Anthony Lynn said the fourth-year offensive lineman “at the helm” for the left start will take over the position.

At this point, the chargers do not aim to move the Forrest lamp protector out of the doors to attack. A second-round pick highly acclaimed in 2017, Lamp has limited himself in his career to nine games, two starts, due to injury.
“We want to make sure Forrest can compete in one position before we start looking to teach him two positions,” Lynn said. “I know he played left at school [in Western Kentucky], but it’s at school. [It’s] a little different here.
“I’m not saying I can’t do it, but I love Forrest internally before he was injured a few years ago. Without a doubt, you can be a beginner goalkeeper in this league.
Lynn said the chargers can see Lamp to see how he handles the mail.
