Revealed: cars and categories shown for ‘DIRT 5’, their biggest release to date

There are just over 3 months left until the launch of DIRT five on October 9, and thanks to the latest Codemasters update, it’s transparent that the latest installment in its series of featured demonstrations will be more than ever.

While its recent trailer offered a glimpse at some of the runners and riders, Codemasters has now confirmed the dozen car classes that will frame what promises to be its most extensive roster yet. What’s more, it also revealed 19 of the cars that will appear in the game.

Although Codemasters remains discreet in its full list of vehicles, it promises to reveal them soon (as long as I have my beloved Lancia Delta Integrale, Audi Quattro and Metro 6R4, I’m happy). In the meantime, here are the 12 categories of cars that DIRT five has to offer, and what to expect from each.

Cars confirmed: Fiat 131 Abarth Rally; Porsche 924 GTS Rally

Class Features: Dedicated to the “iconic machines” that made off-road racing so popular in the first place; Codemasters says some will deliver “significant strength and performance.”

Confirmed cars: Ford RS200; Porsche 959 Prodrive Rally Raid

Class Features: The index is in play, but confirmation of the Ford RS200 means there will be a Group B influence here. This elegance promises to offer “some of the most successful off-road cars of the 80s”.

Cars confirmed: Subaru Impreza S4; Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI, Ford Escort RS Cosworth

Class Features: This one of the cars is obviously already focused on the WRC years that saw the wonderful Colin McRae compete with Tommi M-kinen, but Codemasters also promises ‘more excessive machines than the length of a pint of the 1990s’.

Cars confirmed: Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT-4; Porsche 911 R-GT

Class Features: High-end models galore arrive at DIRT five with the subtle Rally GT selection, which provides ‘desirable cars with off-road specifications’.

Confirmed cars: Volkswagen Race Touareg 3; Laffite G-Tec X-Road

Class Features: The Cross Raid category promises one or two newcomers to the DIRT series, with cars that “combine speed, endurance and durability for truly impressive trucks.”

Cars confirmed: None

Class Features: While we’re not yet in the dark in a precise vehicle that constitutes a “rock jumper” in the world of DIRT, Codemasters says it’s anything with “huge wheels, a loop suspension, a large protective cage… And that’s it. This sounds like the vision of the top-pass global developer.

Cars confirmed: Peugeot 208 WRX; Citroen C3 R5

Class Features: No DIRT game is complete without Rally Cross, so it’s no wonder to see the return of cars known to scream in the corners, on the sides, regardless of the surface.

Cars confirmed: WS Auto Racing Mudclaw

Class characteristics: Developed specifically for DIRT 5’s Stampede events, the Formula Off Road class provides “off-road beasts with huge, ridged tires and incredible power”, which can negotiate pretty much anything at high speed.

Confirmed cars: Ariel Nomad Tactical; Exomotive Off-road Exocet

Class Features: Ariel’s slightly legal bottle bengals, Exomotive and others will bring repugnant power/weight ratios to DIRT 5. Let’s hope the right balance is achieved, because this category of cars tends to be frustrating when it comes up. other games.

Cars confirmed: Aston Martin DBX

Class Features: Combine “SUVs and flexible vehicles on the road” with off-road engineering and you’ll get the elegance of ultra-fast pre-runners. Codemasters doesn’t say much about this yet, but consider my interest to be plummeting.

Cars confirmed: None

Class Features: Sprint cars of all sizes can be expected. Although no style has been confirmed, you can expect “huge wings and 900 hp” for oval track races. If DIRT five gets this correctly, it can be one of the modes offered.

Cars confirmed: Jimco Unlimited Truck; Brenthel Industries Unlimited Truck

Class Features: “Trucks. Big trucks. Well, that’s what it’s all about.

DIRT five arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation four and PC on October 9, with Xbox Series X and PlayStation five editions soon after. An edition of Google Stadia will also be offered in early 2021. None for you, Nintendo Switch.
