Agents of the Los Angeles County Sheriff reportedly leaked graphic footage of the crash of the helicopter that killed NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others last month, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The branch told the Los Angeles Times Thursday that “the factor is under consideration.” It is known who in particular took or disclosed the images in question, or to what extent they were shared.

From the Los Angeles Times:

One of the resources told The Times that the exchange of images of the scene of the twist of fate and the remains of the victims was discussed through the lifeguards two days after the turn of fate. The source said he saw one of the images on another official’s phone, in an environment that had nothing to do with the investigation into the turn of fate. The source spoke under anonymity due to the delicate nature of the case.

Captain Jorge Valdez told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that “his workplace was forced to touch the circle of relative members of those who suffered the accident” about the images for his investigation, but not because of the accusations against the deputies who had leaked the photos. He also stated that he was “not aware of any complaints” related to the leaked images.

According to the report, the branch has had disruptions that leak similar data to those of celebrities in the past. An investigation was initiated after documents were leaked following Mel Gibson’s arrest for drunk driving in 2006, and a police officer fired for leaking a photo of Rihanna after Chris Brown assaulted her in 2009.

Bryant’s helicopter crashed outside of Los Angeles last month, killing the nine passengers on board. A memorial service performed Monday for Bryant and Gianna at staples Center. Bryant’s widow has since filed a manslaughter lawsuit against the helicopter company.
