After winning the national championship with Ohio State on Monday night, trade quarterback Devin Brown made the decision to leave the team.
Chirs Hummer of 2four7sports reported on Tuesday that Brown had committed to move to Cal after his 3 seasons with the Buckeyes. Brown became a four-star hope and the nation’s No. 6 seed in the 2022 class through the 2four7sports composite.
Hummer noted that Brown entered the moving portal on Dec. 8 but opted to remain with Ohio State for the school football playoffs, which ended with a 34-23 victory over Notre Dame in Monday night’s national game. According to Hummer, Brown is expected to “replace Cal on Tuesday, and the Bears see him as a major component of their offensive plans in 2025. “
Brown has played in moderation with the buckey and has life for 331 aerial yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception with 37 terrestrial yards and some other annotation. The 2023 season spent supporting Kyle McCord and did the same with Will Howard this year.

Hummer stated that Brown and Sagapolutele are expected to compete for the starting quarterback job for Cal under new offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, but Brown’s experience will give him an edge.
