The first EV charging station will be constructed at a recently purchased site in Vacaville, California, with more stations planned for the West Coast.
SAN FRANCISCO – January 16, 2024 – Renewable Properties, a developer and investor in small-scale public grid and solar projects, has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) fleet charging service. Charging at Renewable Properties’ depots will be presented through a charge-as-a-service agreement similar to a forced acquisition agreement (PPA), with no upfront pricing for fleet owners and operators. Renewable Properties will establish, build, own, and operate and keep the warehouses closed, where consumers will pay only for the kilowatt-hours used to rate their electric vehicles. Cargo depots will have reserved electrical capacity, secure yards, vehicle storage, and EV testers that will be compatible with most brands of electric trucks. .
California corporations will have to comply with the state’s Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulations, which went into effect on January 1, 2024. The ACF prescribes a slow transition to electric vehicle fleets, requiring any fleet operator with revenues above $50 million or controlling more than 50 trucks, to begin electrifying their fleets. Affected fleet owners come with retail brands with warehouses and distribution centers; public entities, aggregating municipalities, tribal governments, state governments, county governments, public schools, colleges, and universities; as well as owners of drayage truck fleets that ship goods to and from California seaports and rail stations.
As those entities now face benchmarks in the electrification of their vehicle fleets, demand for EV fleet charging will skyrocket, but there are few features available lately. The new Renewable Properties service will be instrumental in closing the EV fleet charging hole in California and states as they move forward to set fleet electrification goals.
“The growing need for EV fleet charging is now more pressing with California’s new fleet electrification requirements,” said Aaron Halimi, founder and CEO of Renewable Properties. “With our simple charging-as-a-service solution, our work with Black
