Reliability pre-owned Skoda Fabia 2021-present

The Skoda Fabia is practical, comfortable and now affordably priced if bought second-hand.

The Fabia is a solidly built car, so most of your considerations will be about the cleanliness and tidiness of the interior and the fact that the alloy wheels, if specified, haven’t suffered any damage on the road. Its maximum use will probably have been as it’s a city car, so check the bodywork for small scratches.

Owners have reported issues with the seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox in older 2015-2021 model year cars; This can be too choppy when making changes. Some also had a hard time using the Mirrorlink formula in the car’s infotainment formula. In our recent maximum reliability survey, the older Fabia style scored well on brake, rim, wiper, and headlight bulb wear, all of which were below average for elegance.

There have been 3 recalls for this newest Skoda Fabia. Check with your local agent to make sure all corrective paints have been done.

1/ The passenger airbag may not deploy properly due to a leak in the fuel generator pressure tank.

2/ The frame of the rear seat backrest has a reduced resistance weld.

3/ Airbags have been installed in the affected vehicles which, when activated, could rupture and possibly not work properly.

This new edition of the Skoda Fabia was not included in our latest What Car? reliability survey, however, the previous-generation Fabia ranked 14th out of 19 cars in the small car category. That’s not very encouraging, but it’s not ruinous either, as its overall score of 94. 3% respectable.

The majority of old car failures occurred with the electrical system outside the engine, accounting for 9. 3%, then 4. 7% with the brakes and none with the engines. It finished above the Audi A1 and Seat Ibiza, but below the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo. You can see the full list of small cars here.

Skoda, as a brand, ranked 16th out of 32 brands presented, with an overall smart score of 91. 4%. It is above Audi, Ford and Renault, but below Hyundai, Kia and Suzuki. You can see a list of all brands here.
