Regardless, we can own a genuine edition of Kaneda’s motorcycle from “Akira”.

Thanks to a company in Barcelona, we will finally be able to own a genuine edition of the iconic motorcycle that runs around Kaneda d’Akira.

Kaneda’s hyper-futuristic motorcycle from Akira is possibly one of the coolest motorcycles in all of manga and anime. Its origins come from the Tron motorcycles designed by Syd Mead, with Katsuhiro Otomo halving its width as a point.

When I spoke with Otomo about Akira, its manga and anime versions, he talked a lot about the mecha design he came up with. Not to mention running with industry greats like Takashi Watabe, who also had a taste for the very modern design used in anime like Lensman and Cyber City Oedo 808.

This motorcycle is made through Bel.

Admittedly, this isn’t the first time someone has tried to recreate Akira’s Kaneda bike; In fact, many Japanese enthusiasts have done so over the years. The difference here, but still the highest point of quality, is that you will be able to buy one yourself.

If you’re one of the few people who hasn’t read or noticed Akira, then check out the manga and anime box set on Blu-ray. However, I hope this motorcycle doesn’t inspire anyone to continue with this terrible live-action adaptation.
