Recycling bin at 1201 N. Dodge move to 1200 S. Riverside Drive in Iowa City

From Iowa City:

09 September 2020

Recycling bins at 1201 North Dodge St. (former Hy-Vee location) will be moved to the city’s assets at 1200 South Riverside Dr.

Due to the long-term planned uses of existing intermediate recycling construction and Array, which is owned by Hy-Vee, containers will be relocated on Monday, September 21, 2020. The North Dodge will no longer settle for recycling at this time.

Hy-Vee has housed the city’s recycling bins at North Dodge for several decades, and the city values the long-term good fortune of the partnership. Over the years, systems have expanded and bins have been added to accommodate more recycling flows and volumes. The City’s 3 wastes collectively obtain more than 1,500 tons of consistent dredgers to be recycled consistently throughout the year.

The new recycling at S. Riverside Drive will conform to the same fabrics that have recently settled in North Dodge: plastics 1-5 and 7 (no bags), steel containers, glass containers, corrugated cardboard, and paper-cardboard mixes.

The measure will facilitate a minimum reduction in mileage traveled by city trucks emptying containers each week. The measure is expected to save approximately 40 miles of trucks consistent with the week, more than 2,000 miles of trucks consistent with the year. The measure will also open the door to new equipment, which were not imaginable in a sonal-consistent location.

No adjustments will be made to the East Side Recycling Center or the Iowa City Landfill Recycling Area. The East Side Recycling Center, at 2four01 Scott Boulevard SE, is open 2 four hours a day, 7 days a week. Iowa City Health Filler and Recycling Center at 3900 Hebl Avenue SW is open from 7 a. m. 4 p. m. h 30. Monday through Saturday.

Both sites settle for plastics 1 to 5 and 7 (no bags), steel containers, glass containers, corrugated cardboard, combined paper and cartons, the landfill also settle for scrap metal (no strings or fences please), in addition to various other recycling. features for a fee, adding electronics and appliances.

Corrugated cardboard goes into normal trash in Johnson County due to a 2017 ban on cardboard burial. The cardboard can be recycled in its waterfront recycling bin, in one of the 3 warehouses in Iowa City or in Coralville Drop Site village.
