Read Motor Group holds T. L. Darby, a Volkswagen dealership in Burton, for an undisclosed amount.
The location will now be called Hyundai Burton, but it will remain a legal Volkswagen repairman.
The same VW aftermarket team will continue to work at the company to continue supplying vehicles for VW, Seat, Skoda and Cupra MoT.
Read Motor Group has grown from a Hyundai single in 2010 to 10 locations in the North and Midlands region.
It’s a family-owned business, with owner Mike Read still running the business.
Read recently announced that it has been voted Hyundai’s 2023 National Retail Group of the Year, as well as the name of the number one Retail Group in customer service for the second year in a row.
Read said, “When it comes to visitor service, our consumers deserve all of our expertise and professionalism – there’s no replacement and that will never change. “
T. L. Darby has been a recognizable brand and family business on the domain for over 50 years and as such, owner Richard Darby is keen to hand over the reins to another family business owner.
Read added, “Richard and the TL Darthrough team have long been a component of the local community, and I’m proud to continue their legacy of serving consumers in Burton’s domain with the same team, caring about both new and old consumers.
“The Hyundai logo is very exciting and has wonderful things to offer, and I’m really looking forward to bringing it to Burton. “
