The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of the state of Bauchi has called on House leaders to claim the seat of honors. Yakubu Dogara, representing the federal constituency of Bogoro / Dass / Tafawa Balewa, vacant after his departure from the Congress of All Progressives (APC).

The party who made the call in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila, demanded for the invocation of the provisions of Section 68(1)(g) & (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) in respect to it.

In the letter dated 30 July 2020 and signed jointly through the party’s legal representatives, S. Rabo Esq., J. S. Jihrin Esq. A. S. Idris Esq and H.S.Saraki Esq, who were taken to be taken to the hounds on Monday, the party also threatened to take legal action against the president if it did not respond to his request.

The letter reads in part: “We write with appreciated compliments as legal representatives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under the name of” our consumer to, under his command and authority, expose the subject of this correspondence to his attention and if action”

“Given this, our consumer informed us that he had been officially informed through the Honourable Yakubu Dogara, the member representing Dass, Tafawa Balewa and the bogoro federal constituency in bauchi state and the outgoing speaker of the House of Representatives, on his dropout from the PDP to the Congress of All Progressives (APC) Copy of the notification of the Honourable Dogara dated 24 July 2020 and marked as Annex “A” »

It further states: “It is in the context of the above that we ask you to invoke the provisions of Article 68 (1) (g) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) by pointing out of its vacant seat after its atyping within (7) days of receipt of that notification.”

‘This comes with the additional view that if you refuse, forget or do not comply with this request, we will take legal action against you before a competent court, thus bringing to the fore the scope of the legal maxim stated that it says: ‘Product acts that praecepto legis obtemperal’, that is, “you will have to act cautiously and obey the mandate of the laws” in the context of your commitment to the law. To fix the rule of law and deepen democratic processes, as evidenced by his inaugural confrontation as President of the Ninth Assembly in the House of Representatives. »

Meanwhile, a youth organization, the Tafawa Balewa Foundation, Dass and Bogoro for Youth Development, TDBYDF, voted in favor of the former president’s unbornness, saying that he remained their fresh policy icon.

This was included in a press release signed and issued through the president and secretary of the foundation, engineer Emmanuel Isheni and Shitu Haruna.
