SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Prosecutors need rapper Quando Rondo sent back to prison after he crashed a car while free on bail awaiting trial on gang and drug trafficking charges.
The 24-year-old rapper, whose first call is Tyquian Terrel Bowman, was charged last month in his hometown of Savannah. He was released from prison on June 26 on $100,000 bail. Now prosecutors are asking for a trial to revoke his bail.
His filing in Chatham County Superior Court says Bowman crashed a car while speeding Wednesday, and that emergency services “administered Narcan when he showed symptoms of overdose. “
Narcan is a drug used to treat opioid overdoses. Bowman was ordered to abstain from using illegal drugs as a condition of his bail, according to court records.
Bowman’s attorney, Kimberly Copeland, had no comment on the case, she said Friday while answering the phone at the Copeland Law Firm.
A hearing on Bowman’s bail has been scheduled for Thursday. Prosecutors received a subpoena for toxicology tests and other medical records from the hospital that treated Bowman after the crash.
Bowman and 18 others were indicted last month by a Chatham County grand jury. Bowman was charged with 4 counts, in addition to being the manager of an illegal street gang known as “Rollin’ 60’s”.
Prosecutors said other charges stemming from the car crash were pending.
Like Quando Rondo, rapper “I Remember” and singles “ABG” struck a deal with Atlantic Records, which released its debut album, “QPac,” in 2020. Their follow-up album, “Recovery,” was released in March.
