The waiting list for the Range Rover rises to 41,000 ahead of launch as Jaguar Land Rover announces record sales in the first quarter.
The new Range Rover is nearing its official debut as the first Land Rover model, before which the waiting list for the new Rangie EV has grown to 41,000 people.
That’s a staggering number of buyers missing to get their hands on one, however, with that number of 41,000 accounting for two-thirds of Range Rover’s production last year, we wonder how long those 41,000 buyers will wait to have one on the way, especially with JLR’s. Caution about limited production at this time and in the third quarter due to the summer shutdown and aluminum source issues.
Still, having a large order book is the worst challenge for an automaker, especially when it’s making record revenues, which is precisely what JLR did in the results for the first quarter ended at the end of June.
Following the record £29 billion inflow for JLR last year that we announced in May, JLR now reports its effects for the first quarter with a pre-tax profit of £693 million (up from £435 million last year) on a £ cash inflow. 7,300 million with an EBIT of 8. 5%.
Adrian Mardell, JLR’s chief executive, said:
Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our people, JLR achieved exceptional effects in the first quarter, with record revenues and a year-over-year quarterly profit of nearly 60 percent.
